The highlight of the year was our Spring Break cruise on the Carnival Paradise with the Harrisons, Simons, Hines and the Hicks... our friends from "The Hood". Ports of call included Grand Cayman Island where we chartered a private boat and went to "Stingray City" and swam with wild stingrays, Starfish Beach to hunt for the big beautiful Starfish, and snorkeling on some of the many gorgeous reefs right off the island. We also went to Cozumel Mexico (Chankanaab National Park) where we swam with the dolphin and Manatees as well as snorkeling right off the beach. It was a great time with some of our closest friends!!!

We switched it up this year. Instead of going to Edisto, we decided to go to Fripp Island. Katie's friend Abbie has a house there so we got to spend some time with her and her family while we were there. (June 2012)

It was a kid free weekend so we took a trip to the Biltmore Estate in Ashville NC and stayed at the Biltmore Inn with our neighbors Trey and Donna Simon. This is the first time Amber and I have been to the mountains together since we got married. We had a great time touring the estate and the gardens! We also went white water rafting and horseback riding in the hills and lounged around one night watching the sun set in the mountains while drinking wine made at the Biltmore Vineyard. As always it was a great time with our friends the Simons. (July 2012)

While Katie was away from home, we gave her room a makeover. It went from Electric Blue to Pink with a monogram of her initials on the wall. (August 2012)
Back to the mountains... This time we stayed at the Blue Ridge Villas in Banner Elk North Carolina where we met up with my in-laws. While we were there, we went out to eat and shopping in Blowing Rock and hiked some trails at Linville Falls. The next day we went to Grandfather Mountain, hiked up to the Mile High Bridge and explored Linville Caverns. The last day before we left to come home, some True Cowboys took us horseback riding at Dutch Creek Trails in the mountains. The owner, Keith Ward is not only a cowboy, but he is a poet as well. Trey, Donna, Amber and I at it again with another kid free weekend. This time we were stirring up trouble in Charleston. We stayed at the Kings Courtyard Inn. It was Treys birthday on Saturday so after a carriage ride and dinner at Hanks Seafood we headed over to Wet Willies where I can promise you Trey and I did not get into any trouble... Thanks to Amber and Donna. ;-) (December 2012)
